{"id":19,"date":"2018-03-26T17:43:56","date_gmt":"2018-03-26T17:43:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/research.american.edu\/careworkeconomy\/?page_id=19"},"modified":"2021-05-16T00:12:30","modified_gmt":"2021-05-16T00:12:30","slug":"affiliations","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/research.american.edu\/careworkeconomy\/about\/affiliations\/","title":{"rendered":"Partnerships"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"color: #7e2d91\">Partnerships<\/h1>\n<p>Care Work and the Economy is an initiative of the Program in Gender Analysis in Economics (PGAE) in the Department of Economics at American University.\u00a0 Care Work and the Economy partners with universities, research institutions, advocacy groups, and government offices to provide insight on how care work functions in particular contexts and use these insights to adapt the tools governments use when analyzing and determining economic and social policies.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Program on Gender Analysis in Economics<\/h2>\n<p>Care Work and the Economy is an initiative of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.american.edu\/cas\/economics\/gender\/\">Program in Gender Analysis in Economics (PGAE)<\/a> in the Department of Economics at American University.\u00a0 PGAE is the first university program to specialize in gender analysis in economics.\u00a0 PGAE investigates gender and its role in social reproduction, labor markets, finance, development, and centers the well-being of women and other under-represented groups.\u00a0 Since its launching in 2008, the PGAE has trained dozens of doctoral, masters and graduate certificate students to use a gender lens in analyzing economic issues.<\/p>\n<h2>Seoul National University<\/h2>\n<p>Care Work and the Economy has partnered with<a href=\"http:\/\/www.useoul.edu\/\"> Seoul National University<\/a> to implement our fieldwork in South Korea involving both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.\u00a0 The research will include in-depth interviews, to examine the nature of care provisioning that are provided in a variety of settings in South Korea.\u00a0 The team will also use a time-use survey and questionnaire of both caregivers (formal and informal) and care recipients (elderly and parents of young children).<\/p>\n<h2>Levy Economics Institute of Bard College<\/h2>\n<p>Care Work and the Economy has partnered with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.levyinstitute.org\/\">Levy Institute<\/a> to carry out a week-long training course in 2020 for government officials, statisticians, and researchers from developing countries in order to enhance their skills in estimating their care economies and developing gender-sensitive macroeconomic models for policy analysis in their own countries.
