Carmen Estrades

Carmen Estrades is Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics at Universidad de la República (Uruguay). Her research focuses on the areas of trade policy, agricultural economics and natural resources, and she teaches several courses at the undergraduate and graduate programs. She has been working in research for more than ten years, with a focus on the impact of trade policies and other public policies on welfare and poverty in developing countries, applying general equilibrium models, partial equilibrium models and microsimulation methods. Previously, she worked at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and as an independent consultant for the World Bank Group. She completed her PhD in Economics at Université Bordeaux IV (France) in 2012.
